Jesus Wants Transgenders in Heaven
Ministry for America
The transgender discussion will not go away any time soon. Recently an article on Crosswalk.com written by Andrew Walker, “5 Things Every Christian Needs to Know about The Transgender Debate” caught my attention. Please make time to read the article. I know a person who is battling with who she is. She wants me to call her a “he” and by another name other than her legal name. Mr Walker points out a scientific fact that I relate to. “A man’s chromosomes cannot be engineered into female chromosomes. Altering one’s appearance cosmetically or surgically cannot change the underlying reality of a person’s biological make-up.” The person struggling with who he or she is needs to discover who he or she is in Christ. If you represent Christ to them, Love them compassionately. Don’t chase them away. I am not implying one must agree with a person experiencing gender dysporia. One can show he or she cares for someone without reaching agreement with the person’s position on a topic.
Andrew Walker points out, “… the brokenness of creation reaches into every corner of our lives — even our minds and hearts. To the same degree, every human is made in God’s image. To differing degrees and in differing ways, every human struggles with the brokenness of our own bodies, desires, and thoughts. And to the same degree, every human can find their true identity by recognizing that the God who made them has also saved for them and will one day restore them.” To paraphrase Walker on his fourth point, God made men and women and gave them separate roles. If one can simply will themselves to be the gender for which they are biologically not, imagine the impact on society’s values. When we get to the point a father gazes into the eyes of his new born baby boy and thinks to himself, “I sure hope he chooses to become a boy!” society has hit rock bottom. Stand firm in your biblical conviction we humans are made in the likeness of God but love those having trouble recognizing who they are. Pray for them and Love them.
