How Many Preachers Fall?

Marty asked the question in his post? “How many Preachers Fall?” He then answered his question, “Many”. My question to all is how many kings of Israel fell? All but one! The only king of Israel that did not fall is King Jesus. King David was a man after God’s own heart but he fell on two recorded occasions. There were kings in Judea that did what was right in God’s eyes but they also made terrible mistakes. The reason these kings fell is the same reason preachers fall in my opinion. The most common reasons for a king’s failure recorded in 1st and 2nd Kings and 1st and 2nd Chronicles were pride, idolatry and greed. Marty mentions nobody talks about these fallen warriors. We shouldn’t talk about them. We should take note of their failures, pray for them if they are still living, and focus on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. We don’t follow human leaders, we follow Christ. Taking our eyes off Christ is a dangerous thing.
