The mystery of the missing donut.

Devon angrily approached Thelma to complain about his donut being eaten by her. He was certain she was the culprit. “The nerve she had to do such a thing. She is so selfish!” he thought. Devon never gave her a chance to defend herself. He told her “You know you wouldn’t be so big if she would lay off the donuts.” Thelma was not big though she was bigger than the skinny Devon. What Devon didn’t know was that statement crushed his sister. While Devon was upset about losing his donut, he was concerned for his sister’s welfare. He meant to help her by warning her to lay off sweets. There comes a time when Thelma reaches her boiling point. That statement was it. She grabbed Devon by the shirt collar on both shoulders and lifted him to the wall. With tears welling up in those gorgeous blue eyes, she told Devon, “I did not eat your donut.” In fact, I have not eaten any donuts for three days!” …

“When was the last time you remember seeing your donut on the counter?” asked Thelma. “Oh, it was definitely there when Mom and Grandpa Joe went into the living room. That was about 4:47 p.m. Oh no!” exclaimed Devon. “What’s wrong?” asked Thelma. “Mom was cleaning the cabinets and left the stepping stool next to the counter.” Explained Devon. Both Thelma …
